What are possessive adjectives and possessive pronouns




The word 'possessive' mean to 'own'. One can either use possessive adjectives or possessive pronouns to denote ownership . There could be similar words used under the possessive adjectives and pronoun categories ;however, the usage is different.

Possessive adjectives are always followed by the noun they describe.
For example,

My book is kept on the table.
His book is with the teacher.

Possessive pronouns are objects in the sentence.
For example,

The Toy kept on the floor is mine .
The book kept on the table is hers.

For example,
